Different Types of Trees in Farmville

Trees can come from many different places in Farmville. You can get them from free gifts, by buying them in the market, getting them through a mystery item, or through a seedling. There are Level 1 trees and Level 2 trees. Level 1 trees are predominantly the ‘parents’ of the Level 2’s and cannot be obtained through Mystery Seedlings. Here, we will explain the different types of trees in Farmville and how to get them.

Trees available for purchase through the Market

Trees that are available through the market can be bought with coins or Farm Cash.
Some trees that are available for coins include ‘Apple’, ‘Lime’, ‘Cherry’, ‘Orange’, and more. These trees are the easiest to master because you can buy a large amount of them for few coins.

Limited Edition trees as well as Level 2 trees and other special trees can be bought with Farm Cash. Limited Edition trees are typically only available for a certain time and appear in the market as a result of an event or holiday. They usually come and go, but most can be mastered.

Other trees, such as the Acai, are permanent in the market.

Trees available from Free Gifts

Some trees can only be obtained as a free gift. Your friends must send these trees to you. You can make a ‘wish’ for these trees by going to your gift box and clicking ‘Make a Wish’. Choose the item you would like your friends to send you and ‘publish’ it. It will be posted to the newsfeed.
Trees in this category can be permanent in the Free Gift section, or can be available for a certain time period. Some of the permanent trees are ‘Banana’, ‘Date’, and ‘Olive’. Other trees that are only available for a limited time have been ‘Fig’, ‘Pomegranate’, and ‘Passionfruit’. There have been trees that have left the free gifts, only to come back. Some of these are ‘Cashew’, ‘Walnut’, ‘Breadfruit’, and ‘Jackfruit’.

Trees available through Mystery Gifts

Trees are also obtainable as a prize from a Mystery Gift. Mystery Gifts have been know to produce ‘Almond’, ‘Breadfruit’, ‘Jackfruit, ‘Mandarin’, ‘Olive’, ‘Pomegrante’, ‘Starfruit’, and ‘Guava’.

‘Passionfruit’, ‘Cashew’, ‘Fig’, and ‘Walnut’ can no longer be obtained through Mystery Gifts.

Trees available through Mystery Eggs

You can now only receive a Wax Apple tree through a Mystery Egg.

Trees available through Mystery Seedlings

Level 1 trees produce Level 2 Mystery Seedlings when placed in Orchards. For example, you will receive a mystery seedling from a ‘Banana’ tree orchard that will turn into a ‘Cuban’ Banana when fully grown (*Note: When you post your mystery seedling to the newsfeed, your friends may not receive a Cuban Banana tree seedling. What they receive might be a total mystery.) When you place Level 2 trees in an orchard, the mystery seedling received will produce another Level 2 tree. For example, a ‘Cuban Banana’ orchard will produce a seedling that will grow into another ‘Cuban Banana’.
*Note: When you harvest an orchard, you may not receive a mystery seedling. Instead, you may receive 2 Watering Cans. Also, if you have more than one type of tree in an orchard, if you receive a mystery seedling, it can be a Level 2 tree of any type of tree in the orchard.)

Trees available only through the iPhone

iPhone users who play Farmville have the option of buying and gifting exclusive trees. So far, these trees have been ‘Rainbow Apple’ and ‘White Apple’ trees.

Trees available only through Rewardville

When you play Zynga games, you have the option of signing up for ‘Rewardville’. When you join you will earn points that are redeemable for prizes in the games you play. The more games you play, the more points you can earn in a day. Amongst the prizes are decorations, buildings, animals, and TREES. Some of the trees currently offered in Rewardville are ‘Mandarin’, ‘Willow’, and ‘Lychee’.

Decorative Trees

Decorative trees cannot be harvested. They do not produce coins and they cannot be mastered. They are purely for decorative purposes. It is easy to distinguish masterable trees from decorative trees. Masterable trees will have a picture of the fruit, flower, or item that can be harvested from them infront of the picture of the tree. Decorative trees will only show a picture of the tree.
