Farmville Myths
Farmville has a huge fanbase, and with games of this popularity there are bound to be a lot of myths and misconceptions following it. So, we have come up with a list of some of the myths floating around about the game and we have provided some facts about each of them.
Trapping your puppy so he doesn’t run away
Some farmers believe that by enclosing your puppy (for example, with haybales, fences, hedges, etc), he won’t run away if you forget to feed him. This is NOT true. The puppy does indeed run away and if you want to get him back you must pay 2 Farm Cash.
The avatar with blonde hair and purple overalls is a virus and will steal your gifts
There was a hoax back in 2010 about this farmer. She is the default farmer and will not steal your gifts. Sometimes your neighbors’ avatars do not load on your farm and this avatar is in their place. Sometimes your neighbors’ names and pictures will also appear above her head.
Farm expansions, free large amounts of Farm Cash, other things too good to be true
If it sounds too good to be true, chances are it is. The truth behind things like ‘get a 36×36 farm here’ or ‘I just got 310 Farm Cash free’ is that these are definitely FALSE. If it’s not ‘via Farmville by Zynga’, don’t click it. It might just redirect you to some other link, but there is a great chance it contains malware or a virus.
Also, some scams and viruses come ‘via farmville’ or ‘via Farmville by Zynga, so beware. You must use some of your own judgement with these. If it looks fishy, don’t risk it. Think of it like this – if it’s not in the Market in Farmville, it’s probably is not real. There is no way you can get a 36×36 farm expansion when Farmville does not offer it. Just remember, before you click – think.
