Farmville Crop Mastery

To be able to start mastering crops, you must have reached level 10. To gain mastery levels, you must harvest the required amount of each crop. Every crop has a different requirement.

You can view your progress by going to ‘Masteries’ (bottom right corner of the farm) or going to the Market and clicking ‘Seeds and Trees’. When you hover your mouse over the mastery star icons, it will tell you how many crops you need to harvest to achieve the next mastery star. The star spaces will fill in with every mastery star level obtained. They will all be filled in when you have fully mastered that crop.

As you complete your mastery stars, you will be rewarded with coins, XP, and possibly another type of reward. You will receive a confirmation message stating that you have earned your mastery star. You can post this message to the Facebook newsfeed so your friends can receive a coin bonus.

The standard rewards you will earn from each level are:

Level 1
o 25 XP
o 500 Coins
o 50 Coins bonus on newsfeed for friends

Level 2
o 75 XP
o 1,500 Coins
o 100 Coins bonus on newsfeed for friends

Level 3
o 250 XP
o 5,000 Coins
o 150 Coins bonus on newsfeed for friends
o A mastery sign for fully completing a crop

What happens after you fully master a crop?

After you achieve level 3, you will receive a mastery sign for your farm. It can be placed on your land, put in storage, or sold. You can find it in your giftbox after you master the crop.
By mastering some crops you will ‘unlock’ premium crops. A premium crop is an ‘heirloom’ crop or a ‘locked crop’. The only way you can plant these is if you have first mastered all 3 stars of its prerequisite crop. For example, in order to plant ‘Heirloom Carrots’, you first must have mastered normal ‘Carrots’.

You will also be able to find more bushels at one time. Without any mastery levels, you will only find one bushel at a time. When you harvest crops that you have earned mastery stars for, the amount of bushels you find at a time will increase by one with each level.

o Crop + 0 Mastery Stars (MS) = 1 bushel found at a time
o Crop + Level 1 MS = 2 bushels found at a time
o Crop + Level 2 MS = 3 bushels found at a time
o Crop + Level 3 MS = 4 bushels found at a time

Receiving the largest amount of bushels at a time is very important for crafting goods in your Bakery, Winery, or Spa. But, you also may ‘find’ an excessive amount of bushels you can’t craft anything with. You can either feed these bushels to your pigs or share them with your friends on the newsfeed.

You can also use bushels to master crops more quickly. By ‘using’ a bushel before planting a crop, you will receive double mastery. When you use this strategy on days that already have ‘double mastery’ (for holidays, events, etc), you will get 3 mastery points.

Also, you can use bushels to receive 1 extra XP per plot if you have already fully mastered the crop. Simply use the bushel before harvesting to reap this reward.

Another feature of bushels is that you can ‘use’ them to get a temporary permit to plant a crop highterin levels than you are. For example, you will be able to plant ‘Forget-Me-Nots’ even if you are level 40.

*Note: You can only store up to 100 bushels in you Market Stall at one time. You will not be able to ‘find’ bushels until you have removed some bushels from your stall.

Crops that cannot be mastered and crops with no bushels

Typically, limited edition crops cannot be mastered. However, there have been exceptions. Crops such as Triticale, Super Pumpkins, and Tomatillos have been masterable limited edition crops.

Limited edition crops also do not generally produce bushels. But, there have been exceptions here as well.
