Seeds and Crops

Crops are a huge part of farmville – and they should be! It is a farm, right? If you donate a large portion of your farm to your crops, harvesting them will earn you one of the largest portions of your daily coins.
In Farmville, to grow crops you plow the land, plant the seed, and harvest the ripe crops. There many different types of seeds you can plant and master. Each crop is unique in the amount of time it takes for them to be able to harvest. Harvest times range from as quickly as 2 hours to as long as 4 days. They also cost different prices and provide different amounts of XP.
Crops are prone to withering if you don’t harveset them when they are ready. If you forget about your crops, you might come back to find that they all died. But, this can be corrected a couple of different ways.
A number of different strategies can be used to get the most out of your crops, including ‘fertilize all’s and bushels.
Why are crops important?
To complete collections, you need to plow, seed, and harvest your crops.
A number of ribbons require completing different tasks involving crops.
And crop mastery is a huge part of Farmville.
Co-op farming is based upon crops. Without crops there would be no co-ops.

There are many different types of seeds to choose from in Farmville. You can buy seeds in the Market. Limited edition seeds are also available in the Market or in Free Gifts on occasion. When disasters occur or relief efforts are needed, Charity seeds sometimes apprear in the Market available when you purchase a ‘permit’. If you’re above level 10, you’ll want to start working on mastering your crops! Crop mastery is a major part of Farmville. Mastering crops earns you coins, XP, and other rewards. You must have some previous crops ‘mastered’ to plant some ‘locked’ crops. You can also use bushels to quickly progress through the mastery process. Bushels cut mastering time in half!
