Farmville Neighbor Etiquette

Farmville players all have different ideas of what qualities make a player a ‘good neighbor’. This can be anything from how they gift, to how they interact with you, and many other factors. But the difference between all farmers is the amount of time each individual has available to play the game.

Farmville is a casual game and can be played throughout the day, either in quick bursts or hours on end. It can also be put aside for days to come back to it later. But, since every player has a different schedule and things to do in life, everyone has a different amount of time that they can devote to playing. Work, school, family, kids, pets, friends, and so much more demand attention a lot of attention.

The person who has a full time job with 3 kids to raise will not have the same amount of time to play as the person who is single and self employed working from home. Everyone is different.

One thing to remember is be patient with your neighbors.

——————————————————————————–

This is a list compiled from what active Farmville players consider ‘good qualities’ in their own neighbors:

• Return gifts in a timely manner.

• Help with building requests.

• Help with ‘Wish List’ items.

• Don’t bombard neighbors with an overload of requests throughout the day.

• Send farmers the items they need or ask for.

• Share rewards and bonuses on the newsfeed (you never know who needs what.)

• ‘Like’ or say ‘Thank You’ when collecting a reward off the newsfeed – It let’s everyone else know that something has been claimed and it lets the poster know who is enjoying the reward.

• Help with barnraisings and expansions – You would want your neighbors to do the same for you.

• Share goods and fuel – Many players have a lot less fuel than you would imagine, spread the wealth!

• ‘Take’ bushels from your neighbors’ stalls – They’ll get fuel, coins, or XP as a reward.

• Try to visit your neighbors’ farms – This can be quite difficult for many players, so do your best. When you are on a neighbor’s farm, make the most out of it: fertilize some crops or harvest some ready items, click on buildings highlighted in blue, and send a gift. Can’t do it all? Don’t worry, do your best.

• Listen to your neighbors’ wishes – Some don’t need things posted on their profile when you visit their farms. Others do.

• Help when you join a co-op – It can be frustrating to start a co-op and have 4 or 5 people in it, only to realize you are the only one doing any of the work. Your neighbors feel the same way when they start a co-op.

• Ask neighbor’s what they need. Many will say ‘nothing’, but try to help the neighbors who tell you what they need.

• Be understanding – Everyone has a different schedule and things going on in life. If someone misses a few days of playing, try to understand. You would want them to do the same for you.

• Don’t get upset easily – Farmville is a game and games should be fun! Don’t let a little mistake or someone forgetting something get you down.

• Practice what you preach – In other words, treat others as you would like to be treated.

——————————————————————————–

You don’t need to do any of the things listed here. They are just suggestions from people who play Farmville, not a list of things you must do. No one can tell you what to do except you and it would be EXTREMELY difficult for any Farmville player to do all of these things for all of their neighbors everyday.

The only thing you absolutely MUST do is enjoy the game. Play it however YOU like and have fun while you do it.
