Farmer’s Market
Introduction to the Farmer’s Market
The Market Stall is quite an important little building in Farmville. The main purpose of these stalls is to house your bushels and goods. Bushels have a wide variety of uses which can benefit you greatly in the game.
When you click on your stall and choose ‘look inside’, you will be brought to a new window where you will have the option to ‘Get Bushels’, ‘Use Bushels’, ‘Get Goods’, and ‘Sell Goods’.
Farmer’s Market stalls are available for 50,000 coins or 20 Farm Cash in the Market. They do not have to be built. They are complete and ready for use the minute they are purchased. You can have up to 5 market stalls on your farm and each stall will only hold one type of bushel at a time. Currently, you can store up to 100 bushels in your first stall at a time. For every secondary stall that you have you can store an extra 25 in each. The bushel limit is 200 (5 stalls). When you are harvesting, if you have already reached your bushel limit, you will no longer ‘find’ any bushels in your crops until you clear out room for them.
When you have bushels in your stalls, your neighbors will be able to ‘take’ them from you. When they ‘take’ bushels, you will not lose anything. Instead, you will be rewarded with coins, fuel, or XP. The rewards are 400 coins, 15 units of fuel, or 10 XP per person that visits.
You can only receive 1 reward per person each day. Your reward will be larger if more people take your bushels.

Bushels
Where do you get bushels from?
You can grow your own crops and receive bushels when you harvest.
You can ‘take’ bushels from your neighbors’ stalls.
You can get bushels off the News Feed when your neighbors share them.
You can get bushels off your friends’ profiles when they post them.
You can ask for bushels when you have taken the maximum from the ‘Get Bushels’ section and there are none left.
How to get more bushels
A great feature in Farmville is the ability to use the ‘fertilize all’ to get more bushels. Not only will a ‘fertilize all’ reward you with 1 extra XP per plot, but you will also have an increased chance of finding bushels when you harvest your crops.
You can get this item:
• by chance when you help a neighbor’s farm
• by chance when you harvest your fully stocked beehive
• and on occasion when it is available as a free gift
Pollinated Seeds will also give you the chance to get more bushels when you harvest your crops. You are only able to find pollinated seeds if you have a beehive containing bees. You will further your chance of finding a pollinated seed by having more bees and more fertilized crops.
Pollinated seeds will give you a 50% greater chance of finding a fertilized crop. It lasts for two days and you are also able to share it with your friends on your news feed (up to 10 can claim it). If you are lucky, you can also find a pollinated seed on your newsfeed or your friends’ profiles.
*Note: You can only find a pollinated seed that is the same type as the crops you have harvested. For example, you can only find pollinated eggplant seeds if you are harvesting eggplants.
Why are bushels important in Farmville?
Bushels have many purposes in Farmville. They can be used for a number of reasons including:
• Earning double mastery points when harvesting crops
• Offering them to your friends in exchange for coins, fuel, or XP
• Using them to create good that can be turned into fuel or be bought by your neighbors
• Using them to plant a crop that requires a level that you have not reached yet
Earning double mastery points
If you want to earn double mastery points when you harvest your crops, bushels are your best friend. You will be able to mastery crops and earn mastery signs more quickly. Simply click on your Farmer’s Market stall before you start harvesting. Click on ‘Use Bushels’ to see if you already have the same type of bushel as the crops you will be harvesting. If you do, click ‘use’ and press ‘accept’ when the temporary permit window pops up. Voila! You can now harvest your crops and receive double the amount of points mastering that crop. This permit will last you 2 hours.
If you do not have a necessary bushel, you can see if your friends have any that you are looking for. Just go to ‘Get Bushels’ and search through the crops until you find what you need. If you find it, you can ‘take’ up to 3 from your neighbors, and then use them before you start harvesting. If you still can’t find it, you can start harvesting your crops until the message pops up that you have found a bushel. At this point, you can either ‘use’ the bushel for double mastery of the crops you have left, or your can finish up your field and save it for next time.
Offer bushels to your neighbors in exchange for coins, fuel, or XP
If you find a bushel while harvesting your crops and you have an empty stall, the bushels will be placed in that stall and your friends will have the option to ‘take’ them from you. You will get to choose one of the following rewards everytime a person visits your stall:
• 400 coins
• 15 units of fuel
• 10 XP
*Note: Rewards are based on the amount of people that visit and ‘take’ your bushels, not on the amount of bushels taken. You will get more of these rewards if more people visit. Let’s say 5 people visit. You can choose from either 2,000 coins, 75 units of fuel, or 50 XP.
Also remember that the more stalls you have, the more crops you will be able to offer to your neighbors.
Create goods in your crafting building with bushels
Bushels are necessary to craft goods, which you can trade in for fuel. Your Bakery, Winery, or Spa will provide you with the recipes for crafting the goods. You must provide the bushels.
Use a bushel to plant and harvest a crop that requires a level you have not reached yet
There are probably crops that you have not mastered yet and that you can’t access because you are restricted by your level. Well, don’t let that stop you from planting them! You can get a temporary 2 hour permit to plant and harvest these crops pretty easily.
All you have to do is go to the ‘Get Bushels’ section of the Farmer’s market. Look through all the bushels your neighbors are offering and ‘take’ the ones that you are restricted to. When you decide to use these bushels, they will be unlocked for 2 hours where you can then plant them on your farm.
*Note: Crops that require a previous mastery will still be locked even if you acquire their bushel. For instance, ‘heirloom carrots’ can only be planted if you have previously mastered ‘carrots’.

Goods
Purchasing goods from your neighbors
Not only do you have the option to create your own goods in your crafting building, you also have the ability to purchase your neighbors’ goods and turn them into fuel. The price of goods rises with every level of the recipe, so a level 70 pumpkin bread will cost you more than a level 25 pumpkin bread. But, it will give you a lot more fuel.
When any Farmville player crafts a good, they might get a popup telling them they can share a good to the newsfeed. If they choose to do so, another player can ‘claim’ it. If your neighbor posts a good to the newsfeed and you claim it, it’s free and doesn’t cost you anything. You can think of it as getting free fuel. When you claim it, you also have the option of thanking them for the good by sending them a free gift.
Creating Goods
When you place your crafting building on your farm, you initially start with two work spaces in which you can create goods. Each recipe calls for different types and amounts of bushels. You can get bushels by planting and harvesting the crops yourself or from neighbors via their market stall or off the newsfeed. If no one is offering the bushel you need and you haven’t planted it yourself, you can ‘ask’ your friends for a bushel by going to your market stall and clicking ‘ask friends for bushel’.
It takes 6 hours for a recipe to become ready. If you wait longer than 6 hours to ‘finish’ your good, nothing will happen. You don’t have to worry about it withering, dying, or something of the sort. It will simply stay ready until you press the ‘finish’ button.
After you ‘finish’ a good, you will get a good in your stall and two will be placed up for sale to your neighbors. Then, you can start creating more recipes.
Selling goods to your neighbors
Everytime you create a recipe and ‘finish’ it, you will receive one good and two will be placed in your building for your friends to buy. When they buy your goods, you receive coins based on the level of your recipe, how many goods you offer, and how many people buy them. This is one way to easily generate up to tens of thousands of coins per day.
Your neighbors can also share with you the good they purchased. This will post to your profile the same good and level that they bought, so if they bought a level 35 Strawberry Shortcake, for example, you will also receive a level 35 Strawberry Shortcake, if they choose to share. Not all neighbors do.
Upgrading your crafting building to make more goods
To make more goods for yourself and your neighbors, you will need to upgrade your crafting building. By doing this you will get more work stations to create more goods. Upgrading your building can be done two ways: with cash or with coins.
Coin upgrades require you to raise your recipes to a certain level. Every time you reach the level required you will unlock the coin upgrade and can purchase the next level in the crafting building.
Cash upgrades let you instantly unlock the next level of the crafting building.
When you advance to the next level of your crafting building, you will get one extra work station. You initially start with two work stations and you can upgrade to a maximum of six work stations. This means you can create six recipes at a time. Recipes are ready every six hours so with one building you can create up to 24 goods per day for yourself and 48 for your neighbors to buy.

Getting and using goods in the Farmer’s Market
Getting Goods
You can get goods from your neighbors by going to your Farmer’s Market and clicking ‘Get Goods’. Getting goods from your neighbors benefits both of you:
• You get a good that you can turn into fuel.
• Your neighbor gets paid for that good and can have the good shared back with them.
Simply put, buying goods is the equivelant of buying fuel for coins, instead of Farm Cash. As the levels of goods increase, so does the price and the amount of fuel you will receive. However, even though higher level items will give you more fuel, the higher the price, the worse the ratio is of coins to fuel (how many plots of fuel you receive for the coins you pay). The best ratios seem to be the items that give you about 1 tank of fuel. These items are generally anywhere from level 19 to level 28. You can see how many plots of fuel each item will give you by hovering over the item with your mouse.
But, many farmers ultimately decide to purchase the highest priced good because it gives you the more fuel than the other goods.
After you buy the goods from your neighbors, a button will appear that says ‘share a bonus’. This is a thank-you type of gift that shares with your neighbor the same good you just purchased.
You can only get one good per friend per day. You can store up to 200 goods in your stall at a time. You might want to use some if you want to make room for more.
Using Goods
When you buy goods or create your own, they will be placed in your stall for you to use and convert into fuel.
On the left hand side of the ‘Use Goods’ window, you will see your fuel tank. When you use a good, your fuel tank will increase depending upon how much fuel your item gives you. With a high level item, you may get 3 tanks of fuel. With a low level item, you may only get 1/5th of a tank of fuel.
